Freedom- Art Journal

Hello friends
We are back yet again sharing another art journal page.
We were inspired by the current challenge at Mudra, where the theme is Think India. What could be more appropriate than an art journal with Tri colours with a quote on freedom. In India, we celebrate Independence Day on August 15. So we wanted to capture the essence of freedom.

We drew a silhouette of a girl who is celebrating freedom. We made the background in Tri colours. We used Asian Tile Pattern stencil by Mudra with texture paste. We felt the background was a little plain, so we went ahead and added some polka dot stencilling using orange, blue and green colour dye ink pads by Craftyscrappers. The quote was taken from Pinterest. We wrote it on a black paper, cut and pasted on the art journal page. We stamped Wild Rose flowers and leaves on a watercolor paper, colored and fussy cut it. And placed it on the page.

Ta da, our art journal is ready!

Mini Art journal Series- 1

Hello friends
We are sharing a new series called Mini Art journal Series. We are excited to share the first post of the series.

Those of you who know us or have seen our older posts know that we love to recycle and reuse stuffs. So, this art journal is also one such project. We have used an old mini diary as the base for the art journal. This was used to note the expenditures during our hostel days. We are so happy to put it into good use.

Let's dive into today's post.
We have a tutorial for you.

Materials required:
Mini diary/ Art journal
White gesso ( we used DIY gesso)
Paints - any type (Spray paints, watercolor)
Glue/ fevicol
Any stamp or image 
Black cardstock
Black marker
White gelly Roll pen
Stencil
Dye ink pads ( you can use any coloring medium)
Blending foam
Scissors



Tutorial
1. Start by sticking together 3 papers. This will give some thickness and the paper will be able to handle the paints.
2. Repeat the first step with entire diary. Let it dry.
3. Apply gesso over the page and let it dry.
4. Apply watercolors or spray paints over the base. Choose 2-3 colors of choice.
5. Using a stencil, apply dye inks over the base.
6. Color your stamped image. We used dye ink pads to color the feathers.
7. Using black marker, doodle any design on the feathers. Fussy cut the image.
8. Write a inspirational quote with white gelly Roll on black cardstock. Cut them into strips.
9. Now comes the final and fun part, that is assembling. Place the image and quote over the base and see to your liking. Now paste them using glue.
Ta da, your mini art journal is ready.

Rainbow Hello

Sharing a stencilled card.

Count your rainbows 🌈 not thunderstorms ⛈️
We have used Tubby crafts Stencil and dye ink pads. The hello die is from Taylored Expressions.
This hello die has become our recent favorite, so you will see us using it frequently.  We used vellum under the die cut to finish the card.

Live life in COLOUR- Art Journalling

Hello friends

Again Art Journalling for today's post!!
When we saw this Funky Square Background stamp from Varada Sharma's  August Release, immediately it struck our mind that we could draw patterns inside those square and have fun!! We thought what better than Art Journalling page to just have fun with stamps, patterns and colors. Also used sentiment and Beautiful Butterflies stamp from the release.
Added some splatters to make it more fun.

Birthday card

We have a card to share today. 

We made this card using this cute girl. We did stencilling for the background using brick stencil and grey ink pad by Tubby Crafts. We felt it was a bit empty, so we went ahead and added a strip of washi tape, Finished off with sentiment from Pawsome Pups stamp set by YNS.

We have a heart shaped card to share with you. We have used Awesome Blossom stamp set from the new release. We have cut the card base using heart die. We used the same size heart die to cut from pink cardstock. We cut a piece of watercolor paper using heart die smaller than that used for base. We heat embossed the Awesome blossom stamp using Gold embossing powder. We colored the images. Finished off the card with sequins.

Ombre balloons

Hello friends

Nobody can be uncheered with a balloon..... well, we got you three balloons to cheer you up further!!

We did scene building after a long time, and are pleased with the outcome. Again used Craftyscrappers Party bears  stamp set, Create a Scene stencil, Tubby craft ink pads and Dress my craft balloon die.
We can't get enough of these cute bear stamps, do you have any such favorite stamp that you seem to reach for time and again?? Tell us we are not alone.
