LOVE cross stitched card- Ft. Waffle Flower cross-stitch die

Hello everyone,

We have a love theme cross stitched card to share.

It's been a long time since we shared cross stitched cards. If you want to check earlier cross-stitched cards, please check them here, here and here. We did some stenciling for the background to give a grass effect. 

We generally don't use colored card bases, but pink card base suits well for this card. This card stock is a new addition to our stash and we used it immediately (the day we bought it).

You are the sweetest- Ft. Waffle Flower Cross-stitch die

Hello everyone,

Here's our card for Raksha Bandhan, a festival celebrated in India. You can read more about it below.

When Waffle Flower Crafts released their Cross-stitching dies, we were excited despite being a beginner. The excitement only grew by leaps and bounds upon opening the package and throughout the process of die-cutting and stitching the pattern. 

We must admit that clearing out all the little bits from the die cut paper was tedious, but worth the pleasure that we got on finishing this piece of #handmadelove.

Raksha bandhan:

Raksha bandhan is the celebration where sacred thread is tied by sister to brother. It's commitment to protect and take care of sister by brother in all situations. Also sister ties it and pays to good for her brother's well being.

Its obvious that raksha bandhan became emotional and wide spread ritual when India was undergoing attacks by outside looters who not only just tried to loot materialistic wealth but also our sisters 'samman'. 

Today's rakhi celebration is more of "brother-sister" day to enjoy the gifts and sweets. 😊

Little confusion about raksha bandhan tie up by wife to husband is also seen in few places as read in some articles - as we saw that sacred thread tie up is used in many rituals in hindu culture, dring war time in olden days, wife used to tie pooja thread to husband seeking protection from God. Also war was commitment for kings to protect their people and also it's seen as yagnya/pooja of god only.

Rakhi day rituals:

Early morning, thread ceremony to be done where sister does pooja of cotton or silk thread extracted. Basically process of filling positive energy into thread and tie a knot in it which symbolizes holding that energy which will protect the one who wearing. Now a days, it's replaced by plastic/foam sheet images etc.,

The best time to tie Rakhi on Raksha Bandhan is during Aparahna which is late afternoon according to Hindu division of the day or in evening just before sandhya time it seems.

We are better together

We thought that Hello stamp set would be perfect for this card. Given that we are loving making spinner cards lately, we made this one as a spinner too. Pink heart is the spinner element here.

Hello card- rainbow background

 Hello everyone, 

I had this card design on my mind for quite a while, so when I saw the theme (vellum) at Waffle Flower weekly Challenge, I know it was my calling. 

We used vellum behind the black die cut to mute it. We love using this rainbow pattern paper. 

Don't you think these cheerful kids pair beautifully with this Hello die.

Happy birthday Waffle Flower

Hello everyone, 

We haven't played with these little kids from Waffle Flower Hello stamp set for quite some time. When we saw the theme at Waffle Flower, our hands were itching to make a birthday card. We love rainbow colours, so thought why not incorporate rainbow pattern paper that we bought some time back. 

Subhashini always wanted to make kids around a frame. Finally, we put that idea into action. We are happy with the outcome. To add some interest, we stuck the panel at an angle. 

Ain't the sentiment perfect for a birthday card!

Spring theme card

 Hello everyone,

Sharing another card made using Waffle Flower stamp sets- Lilac dreams and Loved. We made a background using flowers and leaves from Loved stamp set. The girl is from Lilac dreams stamp set. The sentiment is from Altenew stamp set.

We had fun making a background. It is so much fun to do stamping, right. We were inspired by the current sketch challenge at MFT. We have rotated the sketch.
