Sun- catcher with CD

Hello friends,

Here we are back with something different this time, it's a Sun catcher.

We made it using old CDs, yes you heard it right, using old CDs. We wanted to make them for a long time, finally gave it a try. The main thing here is to clean the CDs, remove the thin reflective film off it and clean it. We used tapes to remove the thin film, but it leaves behind some sticky adhesive which is the most time consuming part of the process.
We were inspired by some images on Pinterest.
Rest is the fun part, we used Fevicryl 3D Outliner to draw the outlines and colored with glass colors.
Just added some beads onto the embroidery floss, made tassels and tied it... Tada, the Sun catcher is ready to show off and add charm to your balcony.

Quilled girl with puppy

Hello friends

We are back with a post, this time it is a quilled project. We have made a quilled scene with a 3-D quilled girl with a puppy. We love those tiny tight coiled flowers, the addition of tiny pearls acts like icing on the cake. The grass has been created using crimpled green strips.

This time theme at "The Twisted Challenges"  is  Fairy Tales + Add your Own Twist.  As you all are familiar with fairy tales where they show that a girl waits for her Prince Charming to transform her dull/miserable life into happy life  and they live happily ever after. We want to break this misconception of a prince charming changing  a girl's life, rather a girl needs a true friend whom she can trust and spend her time with and share her happiness and sorrows.

Friendship makes life more beautiful. Don't you all agree with us?

Cute Owl Pen Stand

Hello crafty peeps,

Let's face it, all of us fall short of pen stands to store our color markers, pens, pencils and paint brushes. It saves us a ton of time in sorting things out and makes crafting a lot more easier and faster. Organization is a big part of time management. I guess you all would agree with us on this.

Today, we want to share a cute owl pen stand with you. This is a simple and kid friendly project. You can make it in an hour if all items are in hand. We love to make recycled crafts, and this is our latest addition to the list. We have used old CDs and even the paper used to cover CDs are reused ( it was used in our assignment).

So, without further ado, let's look at owl pen stand.

CD Tea Light Holder

Hello friends,

Take a look at this unique, exquisite and really easy-to-make tea light holder.
It’s a great way to put into use those CDs that you need no more. Don’t throw them out!  You can make all kinds of great things with them!

If you love crafting with CDs, you need to check out:

https://thecreativetwins.blogspot.in/2018/01/beautiful-cd-rangoli.html

This one's really simple, with minimal supplies required;
  • ·         Old CD that you are about to throw
  • ·         Kundan stones/ rhinestones in colors of your choice
  • ·         Half pearls
  • ·         Ball chains
  • ·          Glue / Fabric glue

We have created a basic design, but you can let your imagination go wild. In the centre, we have stuck a layer of purple ball chain followed by half pearls and added one more layer. Then, we have pasted pink rhinestones around it and again layered it up with half pearls and ball chain and they are good to go. Now decorate your home in style!

We are entering into the All sorts challenge, with the theme “PEARLS”. We just love pearls, they are versatile. They add elegance and charm to your projects. They can be used in jewellery, handmade cards, rangolis, photo frames and just about any mix- media projects.

Here, i have used glass colors that were lying around sadly in a corner. I have drawn a simple design. You can draw more intricate ones too.

Beautiful CD Rangoli

Hello friends,

Presenting you rangoli in a new form- CD rangoli done with glass colors. These were done really long ago after 12th board exams with quite a bit of free time and literally nothing to do. So, we made a bunch of these beauties and gifted them to our relatives. It was appreciated by one and all.

The best part about this rangoli is that each one is unique and there are endless possibilities with the decor. You can use sequins, ball chains and even mirrors. Here, I have sticked with glass colors. But I have made others with kundan stones too, which I will update soon.
Hope you will also enjoy it.
